Guest
Just received Express version 5 update. I noticed that you can no longer select certain files to not back-up. For example, you used to be able to selcted certain files NOT to back up, like all files that end in ".log". File selection seems to be limited to the five or 6 canned options. Is this so or have I missed something.
Mayoff
Retrospect Express has never had the ability to customize selectors. We provide a limited set of "default" selectors. A bug related to corrupt preferences in an older version of Retrospect Express would allow users access to a simple custom selector window. Guest
I must have had the version with the bug in it. The preview release of Retrospect had this feature. In my opinion this is a big step backward. How does one go about assigning "cool" or "hot" to files and folders in OS X? I do not find that as an option in the Finder. Also, assigning these labels is a royal pain if one has a lot of them.
lv2ski
To assign COOL or HOT folders in OSX you must boot into Classic OS 9 mode and label folders as HOT or COOL.
BrianG
You can also use applications like SNAX (http://www.cocoatech.com/products/) or FileBuddy 7 (http://www.skytag.com/filebuddy/7/index.html) to change labels under OS X.
