rvens
I have some backup sets created with Retrospect 2.0i for the Macintosh. I would be grateful if anybody could help me out in restoring these backup sets. I do not have a Mac anymore, for your information. I have already tried opening the backup sets with the latest Retrospect for Windows, but it does not recognize the backup sets. If there is a forum where this question is better answered, please tell me. Regards, Rob
Mayoff
You would need the Mac version to restore these. Probably 5.0 or 5.1 would work okay. Data Recovery companies like Drive Savers could help.
nekr0phage
Rob, A data recovery house like Drive Savers (http://www.drivesavers.com/) would definitely be able to get this data onto newer media for you. If you wanted to try to get it on your own, your best bet would be to purchase an old Mac, as close to the one you had when you backed up, and try to restore with the oldest version of Retrospect you can get your hands on. You should try to duplicate the hardware/software you had at the time.
