I am running retrospect 4.3 on the OS 8.6 so I need to backup the OS X I installed the retrospect client 5.0 on OS X and have error 108 not enough application memory. IrenaS
Since OS X has so many files, it requires more memory to scan a volume. How much memory do you have available on the backup machine? How much have you allocated to Retrospect? Your user's guide has guidelines for memory allocation. Note that a base OS X install has over 40,000 files, so you may need to allocate as much as 10 MB or more to the Retrospect application.
slava
The mac has 128 mb of memory. When backup starts scan the client drive it stops with "error 108" after 80000 files is scanned. 16mb is allocated for retrospect application. I use retrospect 4.3 with 5.0 client (is that normal?) lv2ski
You cannot use 4.3 with a 5.0 client. You need to use 5.0 with a 5.0 client.
