Your only option is to erase them completely - which of course will wipe out your backup. If that is not a problem you can start your backups from scratch by running a "recycle" backup. clint Posted March 16, 2004 Report Share Posted March 16, 2004 This is probably THE disadvantage of tape drives. I sometimes have the same problem and I start a two step procedure: Step 1: Copy the original backupset to another ( using Retrospect ) skipping the files you don't want anymore. With suffienct harddisk space you may go for a file holding the data. Step 2: Copy the temporary backupset back to tape with recycle-option. If you are lucky you can do this in one step with two tape drives. However in this case the target storageset will need a new name. With one tape drive significantly slower than the other you may experience a sleepless night while the tapes are repositioning. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
