neile1
I'm using Qualstar 4440 tape library with retrospect for about 2 month with allot of aggravation... I think, that having this library as a supported configuration by Dantz is really misleading and I'm really upset about it. I think that its wrong to have this library on the supported device list when Retrospect can't read the barcode data or wont use the IO port since this only works with the barcode reader. Is there a timetable for supporting those features?
Mayoff
We do not have any timing for this feature on the Macintosh, but we do realize how important it is. We hope to have it in Retrospect for Windows soon. neile1
It's very disappointing to read this. We have NO PLAN to move to Windows anytime soon (if ever). We bought the Qualstar based on your claim Retrospect works with it and misslead us. Since you don't "have any timing for this feature on the Macintosh" and we cannot wait forever, it seems we are in the market for a replacement of Retrospect. Mayoff
To the best of my knowledge, Retrospect is the only Macintosh product that can communicate with a tape library.
