Retrospect wont let me use my Super Drive with other applications

Recommended Posts

Ignore ID does not function under OS X.

When Retrospect opens, we load a device driver. OS X does not allow two programs to load a CD/DVD device driver at the same time, preventing other access.

Close Retrospect before using the drive for non-backup use.

If I start the other application first (say, iTunes) then start Retrospect, Retrospect will pop up a dialog box stating it can't access the device and the box can NOT be closed by clicking 'OKAY.' I need to force quit Retrospect. Therefore I can not use the CD at the same time that Retrospect is running. This is NOT good! By the way, while Retrospect is spinning tape, the About... menu item is dimmed.
