djindepth
Running Retrospect 6.1.126 and driver 6.1.6.100. Driver for Panasonic DVD+RW loads but will not read data stored on my DVD-R backup disks. I need a fix and I need it fast. Please advise. - dj
AlanQ
I want an answer too. I have a lot of backups on DVD-R and want to be able to read them. I found that I cannot write to DVD-R with Retrospect with this drive, but DVD+R (Verbatim) works fine. I never thought that it might not even be able to read previous backups. Lennart_T
You may need to configure your drive to use DVD-R discs (which will waste an empty disc each of the type(s) you want to use.)

CallMeDave
Quote: What does a CW-8221 have in common with the UJ-857? Why do you ask? And why don't you provide the model of the Panasonic drive that you're working with?
djindepth
I figured my heading was enough. Retrospect reports I am using a (panasonic) UJ-857, The apple software reports that it is a Matshita drive. A drive that has successfully burned well over 200 DVD-V, a variety of CD-R, and a score of DVD-Rs. So what does the CW-8221 have to do with this discussion? bma@igs.net
I am having trouble now as well after the Apple WWAN Support Update I've done troubleshooting including: permissions fix pram zap disk first aid retrospect driver update reinstall retrospect 6.126 & driver update 6.1.9.102 reconfigure drive (verbatim dvd+rw 3 disks failed & hung Retrospect) The current config had done scripted incremental backups successfully on over 40 of these disks in the past... Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thx.
