Mac Powerbook Pro - Matshita DVD-R UJ-857

Recommended Posts

I want an answer too. I have a lot of backups on DVD-R and want to be able to read them.

I found that I cannot write to DVD-R with Retrospect with this drive, but DVD+R (Verbatim) works fine. I never thought that it might not even be able to read previous backups.

I figured my heading was enough. Retrospect reports I am using a (panasonic) UJ-857, The apple software reports that it is a Matshita drive. A drive that has successfully burned well over 200 DVD-V, a variety of CD-R, and a score of DVD-Rs. So what does the CW-8221 have to do with this discussion?

I am having trouble now as well after the Apple WWAN Support Update

I've done troubleshooting including:

permissions fix

pram zap

disk first aid

retrospect driver update

reinstall retrospect 6.126 & driver update 6.1.9.102

reconfigure drive (verbatim dvd+rw 3 disks failed & hung Retrospect)

The current config had done scripted incremental backups successfully on over 40 of these disks in the past...

Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thx.
