Assertion check at "elem16.c-687"

I run Desktop with a Macintosh server and one Windows client. For about 2 weeks, my longstanding script to backup the Windows client (initiated from the Mac server) gets this error:

 

Assertion check at "elem16.c-687"

 

Any info?

Did rebooting the backup server make any difference? What are the OSes and Retrospect versions involved here? What was Retrospect doing when the error occured?

Both client and server have been rebooted multiple times in the month since this problem began. It makes no difference at all.

 

Retrospect had just begun to run the script - not even 1/2 second had elapsed. Here's the log:

The client's log reports:

version info:

MacOS 10.4.4, Retrospect 6.0.212

Windows 2000 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4, Retrospect Client 6.5.136

you should update to 6.1.126 for free:

and see if that resolves the problem for you.

If the problem persists with 6.1, you should post your complete hardware configuration. Simple descriptions such as "a Macintosh server" are to vague to me of much help.
