sspeckman
From reading the forum posts it sounds like the 8.0 build had quite a few issues and 8.1 (beta?) might be more stable. For those that are using the newer 8.1 version would you say it is ready for production or hold off and stay on 7.6? Thanks Scott
Lennart_T
Do you have any specific problems with 7.6? If not, I would wait.
Richy_Boy
Hold off. 8.1 isn't ready for production, though I'm using it as I had no option as we have Win8 clients and needed to address the huge performance impact of laptop scans. Wait for the next 'official' patch to be released and check back on the forum to see what state it's in. Richard
blm14
I had to install 8 because there was a bug in there that was fixed and had been causing me headaches for years. Been on it for a couple of weeks now and not seen any problems (yet)
Antti
How's 8.1 working now that it's officially out (http://retrospect.co...8/release_notes)? I'm pretty fed up with 7.7 and about to update soon. Retrospect devs are probably not focusing on old version - I would have a better chance to get problems and bugs fixed if I'm using the latest. Richy_Boy
8.1 is OK.. don't expect grooming or anything else key to work properly. At least, not after a month or so of using a backup set Rich
