Hi,

 

When I restore my calendar with retrospect 7.0 and exchange agent, all the appointments appear as mails, how could I restore my calendar properly? My Mailboxes are well restored.

Hi,

 

Interesting. Does the error also occur if you try to restore other calendars or just yours? do you get errors if you try to restore the entire calendar?

Hi,

 

I have no error regarding this in Windows event log.As far as I could remember I hadn't got any errors on backup.

All the mailboxes are fine after restore but the calendars are not.

Can you try something please?

 

Create a new backup set and run a backup of a mailbox. Then try to restore the calendar. Do you get the same error?

Hi,

 

I managed to do a new backup with a new backup set, then restored and got my calendar back as it was but I still couldn't get my first calendar as it was.My Customer is now asking me wether I can retrieve the calendar or not.

Thank you for your input I'll probably close the deal with that company as I can't sort this out.

It looks like corruption in the backup set to me. Can you run a catalog rebuild and a media verify on the problem set to make sure there aren't any media failures at play here?

I made on another site the backup and restoration of exchange without any problems, so what would I be awared of in order for me to avoid this issue to happen again?

Were you able to run the verify on the backup media?

In my experience Retrospect catalog files and backup data will only get corrupt if the media fails in some way or the source data is corrupt.

Hi,

 

There is no problem on the media for I'm able to restore correctly from that media, the only issue is on the calendar's appointments.Any the customer wants me to find a definitive way to restore all his backups in the future. I'll always let you know if a new problem occurs.

Could you guys please try to test a restoration with retrospect? I'm having lot of errors with exchange restoration and the documentation about exchange isn't rich on your website.

We have done hundreds of test Exchange restores but we have not seen the error you reported.

 

 

 

Can you give specific steps to reproduce this problem? If it really is a bug it would happen on more than one machine.
