MIKEMCENROE Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 I have retrospect Multiserver 6.5.350 backing up an exchange server over the network, i want to restore a mailbox that the user has deleted , i can choose a mailbox to restore but i cannot choose a destination to restore it to, retrospect says "the destination must be a mailbox" but i cannot select anywhere to restore it to, the OK box always stayed greyed out, any ideas?
MIKEMCENROE Posted July 6, 2005 Author Report Posted July 6, 2005 anyone restored a mailbox back to exchange?
nembot Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Hi, Did you try recreating all the exchange server? Create a new mailbox and restore to that mailbox. Thanks.
MIKEMCENROE Posted July 11, 2005 Author Report Posted July 11, 2005 I am backing up to disk over the network, all i want to do is restore a couple of messages, surely it is possible, or do i have to restore to a local drive?
natew Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Hi Exchange items (messages, mailboxes, databases) can only be restored to exchange servers. They cannot be restored as regular files on a disk. The Retrospect users guide has a good step by step restore section for Exchange. Thanks Nate
