TimFlynn
I am upgrading my backup machine to Panther. My backup hardware is a Adaptec 2930CU SCSI card and a VXA-1 tape backup unit. I've upgraded to Retrospect 6. Am I stepping into the twillight zone. I heard that Adaptec doesn't support their cards under Panther. Is that true? I am doing some test backups and I had a strange incident. The backup was about to the 32 Gig mark. Then the drive rewound the tape and started "waiting". Retrospect still "thought" it was backing up. I eventually stopped & quit Retrospect. Then a little while later I got a kernel panic. I rebooted and tried again. This one completed the backup and is presently comparing. Is this a reasonable setup?
Mayoff
Adaptec does not support the card, and Retrospect does not support the card on Panther.
