TillFranz
I run Retrospect workgroup server 5.1 from a beige G3 with OS 9.22 and AppleShareIP 6.3. It sees all clients under MacOS 9.xx, and it sees our three clients under MacOSX. But I managed to register only one client (iMac G-4, OS 3.5 Panther). When I try to register the two others (iMacG3, OSX 2.8 Jaguar, and PowerMac G4, OSX 3.5 Panther), I get the message (retranslated from German): "Error Code -1028, User not visible in the network". But it is visible in the client database, I just cannot register it. What can I do?
TillFranz
Well, I myself found a first answer. When I disable the firewall, the OSX client can be registered. I would like, however, to use the firewall and to open only the necessary port(s) for Retrospect. Does anybody know what I have to check in the firewall window of the system settings of OSX? natew
Hi Port 497. Retrospect should be listed there when you click on "add" in the firewall settings. Thanks nate
