slapidus
Just installed Retrospect Professional 6.5 and trying to setup scripted backups to alternating backup sets. My backup device is an external hard disk. I've created two backup sets: A and B. I've also created backup scripts for Daily Normal (M,T,W,T,S & S), and Weekly Recycle (F). I'd like to flip-flop between the backup sets, i.e., week 1 use A, week 2 use B, week 3 return to A, week 4 return to B, etc. Can you setup a script to alternate between backup sets? Thanks. natew
Hi Yes you can. When you create a schedule in your script there is a "weeks" box at the bottom. "1" means every week "2" means every other week. You will also need to offset the start date of the Set B backups so that they alternate. For example. Set A: Start date Aug 2 Weeks 2 Set B: Start date Aug 9 Weeks two By the way, you can set this up using a single script with 4 schedules. Just add both backup sets to the script and select the approriate one when you make the schedule. Nate
slapidus
Nate, thank you very much. As with so many things, the solution appears obvious, once someone tells you how! I appreciate your timely reply. Steve
