Steve Leigh
I have a small office at home and am considering Retrospect for a back solution. I have one Windows 2003 server and teo Windows XP Pro computers. The server has a tape drive which I would backup to. My question is... Can I get by with the Professional version or will I need the Single-Server version? If I had to, in order to get by with the Pro version, I'd probably reconfigure my server with Windows XP Pro instead of Server 2003 since I'm really nor "serving" anything with the box anyway. I just want to use it for the tape backup. --Steve
natew
Hi Since the tape drive is on the Windows 2003 server you will need single server edition. If you downgrade the server to Windows XP Retrospect professional will be just fine. If you are using a tape changer/auto loader you will need single server regardless of the OS. Thanks Nate
