robert slocum
Hello! I have until recently been doing Mac network backups to a DDS-3 DAT drive connected to one Mac. The tape drive broke and I'm now using external hard drives (w/ Retro Express), so I don't need to do tape backups any more. However, I occasionally need to recover files from my extensive tape archive. I have a Windows server that also has a DDS-3 drive and Retrospect installed, and am wondering if I can use it to recover files. I tried moving my Mac catalogs to that machine and searching them--didn't work. Tried cataloging one of my Mac tapes on the PC--didn't work. Is there any way to accomplish this, or am I going to have to buy a new DAT drive for my Mac? Thanks for any help. Bob
natew
Hi Unfortunately you will need to read these tapes on a Mac. Retrospect is not cross compatible between platforms. Thanks Nate
