Timotheus
My desktop has an 80 GB HDD, with 4 partitions as follows 5 GB Windows 98 system disk 5 GB Windows XP system disk for all CPU intensive tasks 10 GB Windows XP System disk for all network related tasks 60 GB extended Partition, one logical drive, for data when I power the system on, I get a boot menu that allows me to choose the partition to boot to and I want to know before I attempt to eliminate the windows 98 partition with partition magic, can my Maxtor one touch drive and disaster recovery CD recreate all 4 partitions and restore the data in one go? I ran the backup from the XP installation on the 10GB e: drive, and when I made the restore disk, it asked me which disk to restore I selected the E: drive, will retrospect simply restore the e: drive? has anyone ever dealt with a similar situation? should I just make an image of the physical disk with Ghost before I proceed? natew
Hi You can restore one drive, boot from it, and then restore the other disks. You may have to reinstall and reconfigure your boot loader if you are using a third party application instead of boot.ini Nate
