tonym
How do I exclude *particular* files from backup? I have done a full backup of my system, and excluded several files and subdirectories (for example, I excluded games from backing up, only including my "save game" files). This saved me a lot of CDs, and I thought the games would be easy to reinstall. The problem is that the next time I ran Retrospect Express, this time for an incremental backup, these same files/sub-directories had been flagged as "new" and were scheduled for backup. How do I avoid having to go through the process of having to uncheck them in the preview window each time I run an incremental backup?
Mayoff
If you are on a Macintosh you can use the "cool Items" selector to exclude items with a cool label or include items with a hot label. The Windows version of Express does not have built in selectors with this same level of flexability; it can include and exclude "applications" or "documents" via the "selecting" option of the backup script. Custom selectors are available in the desktop edition or higher.
