klynde
I have been using the same system for about 2 years without problems - Powermac 7200/90, 192M RAM with an Adaptec 29160 Ultra SCSI card connected to an APS Super DLT drive. I'm using Retrospect 5.0.238. Recently I have been getting Error 102 (Trouble communicating with drive). According to a technote the problem could be improper termination. I have not made any changes to the system. I have checked all the cabling and it seems fine. Could the drive or SCSI card be failing? Thanks, Ken
AmyJ
Quote: Could the drive or SCSI card be failing? Yes, but it's also worth considering the cable, the termination and the tapes themselves. What OS are you running under?
rasdata
I am having the same problem. I am operating a server and one client PC. The backup runs fine until it gets to a certain point (about half way through), then displays the '102' error message. I'm using 'Windows 2000 server'. My backup drive has been working fine with my original software. Could it be a conflict with something on the client PC??? SCSI device/cables etc are fine. God this is frustrating. Many thanks Adam
natew
Hi It is doubtful that it is a problem with the PC. Have you tried allocating more Ram to Retrospect? Try booting with base extensions + Retrospect to see if you have better results. Thanks Nate
