rtaconsult
I am using Retrospect 5.6 with a 160 GB Maxtor drive. I want to set up Retrospect so that: Monday it does a full backup of files/folders to a Monday backup folder Tuesday it does a full backup of files/folders to a Tuesday backup folder Wednesday it does a full backup of files/folders to a Wednesday backup folder Thursday & Friday to a Thur or Fri backup folder. On the second Monday, I want to erase previous Monday data then backup On the second Tuesday, I want to erase previous Tuesday data then backup etc for Wed, Thur, and Fri. All day's folders would reside on the same drive It appears that ver 5.6 does not have this capability. Can some one confirm? A tutorial of ver 6.5 seems to describe a 5-set capability, but says on Tuesday to insert a blank piece of media, likewise on Wed, Thur and Fri which sounds like backing up to tape rather that to a hard drive. Can I create 5 backup sets on a single hard drive using ver 6.5? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
natew
Hi This will work in both Retrospect 5.6 and 6.5. I think you have chosen to use "removeable media" backup sets rather than "file". As long as you set up 5 "file" backup sets and run recycle backups every time you will get the results you are after. http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=kbase&ACTION=KBASE&id=27646 Thanks Nate
