can't read, error -1101 (file/directory not found) COMPARE

The error:

can't read, error -1101 (file/directory not found)

appears when I backup to a Hitatchi GF-2050 DVD-RAM during the compare process. Media is OK. When I make a backup to a CD-ROM the message does not appear.

The compare process produces to System Errors:

1)

Disk: Event ID 7, Source: Disk,

Description: The device, \Device\Harddisk0\D, has a bad block.

2)

VolSnap: Event ID 7, Source VolSnap

Description: The shadow copy of volume C: was aborted because of an IO failure.

Check disk doesn't find any bad block that has data on it. Disk is fine.

I have read about similar problems where the source is the way Retrospect is launching and logging to the Disk. I am launching Retrospect manually.

How should I proceed? Anyone? Suggestions?

Hi

I would make sure you have the latest hard disk and chipset drivers for your computer installed. Also check cabling. This error indicates that Retrospect lost contact with the hard drive not the backup media.

If you have any other programs running in the background be sure to shut them off.

Nate
