Retrospect 6.5 Windows Restore Issue

Recommended Posts

I am using the 30-day trial version that came with my Plextor PX-708A RW DVD drive.

The program backed up my entire hard drive to 3 DVDs within a few hours.

But when I try and restore a single file, 60KB, the program seems to run for hours, and never prompts me for a specific DVD. I think the DVD spins but I never get any positive response that it is actually restoring anything.

Is this normal? Shouldn't the program ask me to insert DVD #1, 2 or 3 after it's been spinning for a couple hours?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Alan

Hi Alan

Is a disk in the drive when you start the restore? Does the error happen with any files you try to restore?

What OS are you using and what version of Retrospect is this (including build number x.x.xxx)

Do you have the latest Retrospect driver update installed?

Thanks

Nate

So far I have only tried to restore small files to see if it would work ok.

I start with one DVD of the set in the drive. It never prompts me for a specific DVD.

This a Windows 2000 machine with Retrospect 6.5.336. I downloaded it from the Website. Should I try a newer version?

Is this normal behavior?

Thanks,

Alan
