Some OS 9 users would like to create an Emergency Restore Boot CD so they can restore the local backup computer while booted from a CD instead of the hard disk.

Attached to this post is a .pdf document containing the directions.

Filename: Creating Mac OS 9 Boot CD.pdf

Required Retrospect version: 5.1.177

System Requirements: Mac OS 9.x

I tried a variation of this.

I created a 700 MB scsi drive partition, installed System 9.2.2 and Retrospect.

I entered Retrospect License info and made sure all was fine.

I booted from another drive and made a Toast image of the boot drive.

When I start from the boot CD, Retrospect launches but asks me for licence information again.

This is annoying. If I point it to the config file that exists on the CD, it states it can't use that file because disk is locked.

Any solutions?
