gwcrim Posted December 19, 2003 Report Share Posted December 19, 2003 What is unknown status. I am using Retrospect 6.5 on a Lite-on 411S. It is a 4X DVD drive with+RW capabilities. It works fine outside of Retrospect but Retrospect goes through the initial process of looking at the files to back up and then shows the unknown-status message. I cannot erase the disk or do anything else to it. I have tried both the old DVD +RW and those rated for 4X drives. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
natew Posted December 22, 2003 Report Share Posted December 22, 2003 Hi Does the erase function in Retrospect work on these disks? Have they been formatted by another utility before hand? Make sure to disable any other dvd burning software you have on the machine before you start Retrospect. You may also want to wait for Retrospect to request the disk before you put it in. did you create a custom driver for this drive or did Retrospect provide one?
