BradN
I came in this morning and logged in to the server and it said that it had a serious error (elem.cpp-867) and that I was to call dantz support to fix this problem. Any ideas on how I can fix this?
natew
Hi For starters, Reboot the machine and try the backup again. That will take care of this about 80% of the time. What OS, Retrospect version and backup device do you have? Thanks Nate Nate

AmyJ
Make sure you are running the latest build of 6.5 (6.5.336) available from www.dantz.com/updates.

natew
Hi You may have some corruption in your Retrospect preference files. I would try moving or deleting them and seeing if that helps. They are located at c:\documents and settings\all users\application data (hidden)\Retrospect\config65.dat and config65.bak Are you running Retrospect professional or server? when during the backup does the error happen? The log file will be able to give us more info on that. Thanks Nate
BradN
ok well now theres a PROBLEM>>>> I deleted those files as you specified and now all my scrips and everythign are gone. So how can I reimport that data to get that information back or do I have to enter it all again manually?
natew
Hi, That is the unfortunate side of using new config files. The only work around would be to restore a copy of your old configuration files from a backup. Otherwise you will have to set them up again manually.
