webdeck
Retrospect Workgroup 5.0.203 consistently crashes into MacsBug with this error when I try to clone my startup volume to another volume. I have a MacsBug StdLog output that I can provide. The crash happens when Retrospect is deleting items from the destination volume. This is on a PowerMac G4/450, 1.25GB Ram, Personal Firesharing on, VM off, MacOS 9.2.2. The source volume is the startup volume, HFS+, containing 17GB of data, with 110,751 items, on ATA Bus 2 Dev 0, Disk Setup driver v3.2.8. The destination volume is a subvolume (top level folder) of ATA Bus 2 Dev 1, 19GB HFS+ volume containing nothing other than this clone in a top level folder, Disk Setup driver v3.2.8. This crash is 100% reproducible. If I reformat the destination volume, so that it doesn't have to delete anything, the clone succeeds. However, it will crash again the next attempt, when it tries to delete stuff again. Norton and Disk First Aid report no errors on either volume. I did not have this problem with Retrospect 4.x. Here are some excerpts from the StdLog -- I can provide the entire file upon request. IrenaS
Could you try creating a folder on your destination, defining it as a subvolume and then using it as your destination? Does the crash still occur? Thanks, Irena Solomon Dantz Tech Support
