persephone
Hi, one of my Retrospect Backup Clients has a SCSI-CD-Burner connected to it. The Backup Process occurs at night, after the user shut down the machine to the "retrospect backup waitstate screen". Is it then safe to turn the SCSI Burner off or will this eventually crash the machine? I am not sure if the system may not have shut down its SCSI activity with the Burner already at this state of waiting for the Retrospect backup... Can anyone get what I'm saying? Thanks for any advice! Alex
natew
Hi The problem with SCSI is you don't want to turn it off while there is power to the SCSI adapter on the computer. A lot of people do it anyway but it is best to wait until the machine is fully powered down before shutting down a SCSI device. Thanks Nate
