fotmasta
Presently I have to restart my G4 to get Retro 5.0 to recognize the DAT IV drive. I would like to rescan the SCSI bus from a script if possible. Any ideas?
natew
Hi It isn't something you can do in Retrospect but it shouldn't be necessary. Please post your OS and SCSI adapter Thanks Nate
shadowspawn
Are you running Mac OS X? Do you have the DAT drive turned on when you boot? I think the paranoid advice for SCSI has always been: turn on the SCSI device first, then the computer; shut down the computer first, the the devices. We have been spoilt for years with getting away with less, but on Mac OS X the operating system does not automatically recognise new devices added live, and does not allow allow a user invoked rescan. I believe the software can in theory discover new devices, but the safest thing to do is have the SCSI devices turned on when you boot the computer.
