jetmaster
I am using Retrospect Backup 5 on a Mac G4 with Mac OS 10.1.2. I have a Windows PC connected by Ethernet using Windows 98 and the Retrospect 5 Client. When I backup the networked Windows PC it is recognized and the process begins but it is VERY VERY SLOW. Whereas the Mac volume on which Retrospect resides copies/compares at 90/160 MB/min, the networked PC goes at about 0.5 to 4MB/min. I don't recall this being a problem when using Retrospect 4.3 and OS 9.2. Basically, I purchased the client licenses for v5 and find the performance useless! Please help. IrenaS
Go to Configure > Clients and highlight the client in question. Type Command-I to show info on that client. What is the speed listed there? Also, I'd be curious to see if updating the OS on the backup computer has an effect, as Apple had made some networking improvements with the release or 10.1.4.
