galbitan
I am running Retrospect Workgroup 5.0.238 on an older iMac under OS 9.2.2 to backup about 15 computers, including Macs and Windows machines. One of the Windows clients, a pentium III Gateway E-4200 running Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 2 is not recognized by the server application. Other Windows clients, including a pentium II Dell running Windows 98, a pentium III Dell running Windows NT and a pentium IV Dell running Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 2 are all recognized and backed-up. The Gateway machine is networked and communicates normally with other machines. However, the Retrospect server application could not communicate with this machine, even when logging in using its IP address was attempted. Installing different versions of the client (5.6 and 6.0) did not resolve the problem. Any ideas? Thanks, Gal
natew
Hi Make sure the internet security/ Firewall software allows communication on port 497 of the client machine. How many network cards are on the problem client? Are there any VPN connections being used? Thanks Nate
