brainiac7 Posted October 23, 2003 Report Share Posted October 23, 2003 Hi Dantzers, I want to reformat my internal HD, which has five partitions. I really only need three partitions. I also have two FW drives, one with a bootable OS X on it. The other empty FW drive would be used to hold the back up of the internal HD. I need to know if I run a onetime Immediate Backup of my internal drive with Retrospect 5.1 running on the booted FW OS X disk, that Retrospect will copy all the materials from all of my internal drive's partitions. If so, after backing up the internal drive, I would reformat the same drive with Disk Utility while still booted off the FW OS X drive and then restore from the Immediate Backup. natew Posted October 29, 2003 Report Share Posted October 29, 2003 Hi You should be fine. If you have the space it makes sense to make 2 backups before you reformat.
