urza311
CONFIGURATION: PowerMac G4/867, Mac OS 9.2.2, 1152M RAM, Retrospect Workgroup 5.1 client -- iMac G3/500, Mac OS 9.2.2, 768M RAM, Retrospect Client 5.1.157 This client is our EIMS (Eudora Internet Mail) server. All that gets backed up at night is our EIMS folder and database. Of course, I expect date and data size verification errors -- that's par for the course when backing up an email server that's running. But I did notice something odd the other day. I was doing something on the mail server and noticed a file at the root level named "OS9RetroClient.log". I opened it up in a text editor and the contents are listed below. There's one error-looking message in the contents. Mayoff
This is new to me. I have never seen Retrospect Client on OS 9 report any type of logging. What is the creation date of the file?
urza311
The latest one is listed as created 9/19/03 at 11:30 PM and modified 9/22/03 at 11:33 PM. Our workgroup server does run the mailserver backup script at 11:30 PM, so this correlates. If I delete the file, it recreates itself the next night. This is the content of the latest log. No error message this time, either. Weird. 71999: Start RfsFetch 73156: Start RfsDump 76548: Start RfsFetch 81315: Start RfsDump 068592: Start RfsFetch 070050: Start RfsDump 073318: Start RfsFetch 078255: Start RfsDump 1264754: Start RfsFetch 1266087: Start RfsDump 1269230: Start RfsFetch 1273363: Start RfsDump 6461718: Start RfsFetch 6463095: Start RfsDump 6466501: Start RfsFetch 6471300: Start RfsDump
