CarrellWiers
I am having a problem backing up a Unix server with our Windows machine. At first the backup would fail during the verify process or when try to shuffle the tapes back and forth searcing while verifieing. I was able to eliminate this problem by turning verify off. But now the log is filled with messages like : File \\ (the IP address and server name =a little bit of the path) bad name length 2 These messages completly fill the log. I have tested the backup files and as long as I restore to our NT server they seem fine I can even restore them to the unix machine but retrospect changes the files names to all lower case making them unusable. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this. the files seem ok but messages make the log unreadable From the number of them being generated I have to belive every single file backed up is generating this error
IrenaS
Can you drag these files to the NT machine in Explorer? What version of Retrospect is this?
