akatsuyama
I have a Retrospect Multi-server 6.5 running on a (Dell 2650) Windows 2000 SP3 server that has dual Ethernet ports. I currently have the server residing on a subnet that our users reside in and I have another subnet where our servers reside. I was told that I could place the second Ethernet port on the same subnet where our servers reside and I should have faster throughput, since I wouldn't have to go through a router. Any one try this out on their LAN?
Mikee
I cannot quite picture your setup, however if you're running two backup jobs at the same time you should benefit from utilizing two network cards. I say should because Retrospect has to support it and I don't know for sure if and how well it does. However you cannot just plug the other NIC to the network and expect results. You'll need to attach some client PCs to one NIC and some to the other (from within Retrospect). Mikee
Mayoff
You also need to configure the "interfaces" inside of Configure>Clients so that Retrospect uses multiple interfaces (NIC Cards). You can then login some clients using one card and other clients using the 2nd card.
