archangel1979au
Hello All, I have a windows 2000 professional SP3 machine running client 6.0. It is being backed up by retrospect multi server 6.0. The backup looks like it performs well but when it goes to build the snapshot it take hours upon hours to complete. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the client to no avail. Machines with similiar hardware and security permissions build snaphost ok. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Mayoff
Have you turned on the option to copy NTFS permissions? If so, that can be a very slow process. What type of backup device is this? If you have anti-virus software running, try turning it off to see what happens.
waldorfm
I'm having the same trouble but thought this was just the way winblows works. I suppose I should be backing up NTFS persmissions for fileservers. The actual file copying takes about 15 min. but the snapshot build about 5 hours. This is also multiserver vers. 6.
