dmack
I've been using Retrospect Express for almost a year now, but have recently run into some problems, which began when our system became too large for one DVD+RW. The solution, I thought, was to backup half the system one day and the other half the next. To do this, I created two automated scripts to run at midnight: One for Monday/Wednesday and one for Tuesday/Thursday. On Fridays, the scripts would alternate--one week it would run the Mon/Wed, and the next Friday the Tues/Thurs. For each script, I've selected the Backup set to be "Vertical Backup", but this morning, for example, I came in and the script had not run because it couldn't find "Vertical Backup-4"... the DVD+RW in the drive was a brand new, empty DVD. I'm very confused by this and am hoping someone on this board can help me. One more piece of info: I use a different DVD+RW each day. Is that my problem? Last night, was it looking for the exact DVD+RW that it used the night before to successfully backup? Please advise.

Mayoff
If these are different backup sets, then they are independent from each other. Each set it going to try and backup all data from the disk that does not exist within that set, giving you two parallel backups.
