jsg1220
I just upgraded to Single Server 6.5 and updated the clients to 6.5 also. I am starting to see some file compare errors on clients. To verify that it wasn't some old tapes I was using, I backed up the client directory to a file backup. I tried it with byte-compare both on and off and got the same compare errors in both cases on the same files as the tape backup. I then restored the problem files to another directory on the client and compared them using another application and they compare exactly. Here is an example from the log: 6/27/2003 9:24:23 AM: Comparing GS2000 Sheet Test Files on VV1 >File "V:\GS2000 Sheet Test Files\2002-06-26 Tolko Scan Problem\Scan checks on 6-25\Scan-0000.tif": didn't compare at offset 8 in stream ":{4c8cc155-6c1e-11d1-8e41-00c04fb9386d}:$DATA" >File "V:\GS2000 Sheet Test Files\2002-06-26 Tolko Scan Problem\Scan checks on 6-25\Scan-0001.tif": didn't compare at offset 8 in stream ":{4c8cc155-6c1e-11d1-8e41-00c04fb9386d}:$DATA" The errors appear to occur mostly on TIF and GIF files. Mayoff
First make sure you are running 6.5.319. Run Scan Disk on the drive with these files Turn off any virus scanning during backup
