G4_user
I recently upgraded our office and backup server machine to Workgroup 5.0. Everything went fine except for one machine, a dual-1gig G4 that is running 9.2.2. After installing the 5.0 client, it hangs during boot right after the Retro extension icon appears! I was able to go back to 4.3 client and that worked for a while but now it won't boot with that one either. The only way that I can get it to boot is to bring up extensions manager on boot and disable the Retro extension. To check for extension conflicts, I even tried booting with just the Mac OS Base set and Retro only but it still hangs right after the Retro extension loads and not when I disable it! Very frustrating since all the other computers took the upgrade fine. ben

G4_user
The second step in there, about renaming the client control panel and putting it in the extensions folder worked! Thanks for all your help. ben
