G4_user
I just upgraded an older G4 tower machine to OS 10.2.5 and then installed Retro Workgroup on there. I have several backup server type scripts set to run on different days and backup approx. 10 clients on a local DHCP network via TCP/IP. The backup destination set(s) reside on two firewire disk drives, either of which is always connected to the machine. The problem? The backup seems to be working fine but the Finder icon in the dock keeps bouncing all the time! Usually this means to click on the Finder and you will see an error or something but I get nothing so I have no idea why this is happening. The only reason that I suspect Retrospect is that I noticed that when a Classic app is running, the old Apple in the upper left-hand corner flashes interchangeably with the Retro icon. In OS 9, this used to mean that there was a backup error in Retrospect but I can't find it. Any ideas? Thanks, ben
Mayoff
I have not see that before. Retrospect and Retrospect Client do not normally trigger the finder icon in the doc. What happens after a restart or logout/login? Does the problem go away? If so, does it come back?

You should remove the retro.startup extension from the extension folder in your classic system.
G4_user
Thanks! I think that did it. I figured it had to do something with Classic. Funny how the Retrospect upgrade for OS X doesn't automatically remove that startup extension...
