g2danny Posted April 20, 2003 Report Share Posted April 20, 2003 Can anyone explain why the total size and number of files as indicated by the Preview section before executing a Backup would be greater than the total size and number "completed files" as reported by the Operations Log, for the 1st time Backup of a source volume? A specific example: Preview section before executing a Backup reported 17.7 GB and 3,420 files. (These are the same numbers that Windows Explorer->Properties reveal.) However, after the Backup was executed, the Operations Log reports that 16.9 GB and 3,352 files were completed (backed up). No errors were reported; I performed another backup of the same source to the same set hoping the additional 0.8 GB worth of files would be caught, but no additional files were written.) Can anyone offer explanation? (Does this have anything to do with the "short name" issue of the recent post?) (I am using RP6 on Win 98SE.)
