josky
I need to change the password for the client software because it was lost and we are setting up a new backup server. I have tried un-installing the client, but when I reinstall it, it doesn't ask me for the new password. It seems to store the old password somewhere even if you uninstall it. It seems to me that you should be able to change the password on your own client computer. Does anyone know how to do this or if it can be done? Thanks. AmyJ
You must reboot after uninstalling the old client software and before installing the new software.
josky
I tried that a couple times, too. As it turned out, I had to manually remove the password from the registry before it would work. That was the ticket, though.
jgeraghty
So would anyone like to tell me how where the passwd file resides on the unix client? Since there is no readme or documentation of any kind that was included with the client package....... Thanks
