Tony_Williams
I have posted something similar before but I'll try again. Is there anyone who could tell me in simple 1,2,3 steps how to create a backup file and only selecting specific files? I have 2 partitions c and e and I only want selected files in selected folders to back up. I've tried reading help but it is far too complicated for a novice like me! If I choose select files even though I only tick certain folders and files when I close the screen it tells me I'm backing up All Files, I don't want to do that. Help!!!Seriously any help with a simple walkthro' would be greatly appreciated TIA Tony Williams
Mayoff
You would need to use a selector that looks for specific file names on the disk (Configure>Selectors). The user's guide provides details on how to create a selector. You can also define important folders as subvolumes and select those rather then the entire hard disk. Tony_Williams
Thanks for your help. How do I select a number of folders in different directories? I seem to be able to select only 1 folder in each directory? Do I use "Selecting" ?
Mayoff
You must define each subvolume individually, one after another. Once you have created all your subvolumes you can use the ctrl key on the keyboard to choose all of them as "sources" for backup. This tutorial should be helpful: Define Subvolumes
