alexm
Of late I've been coming in in the morning to find that Retrospect is not running and the Console is up. It doesn't crash every night, but maybe 2 or 3 times a week, which is Way Too Often. Here's a bit from the Console: Date/Time: 2003-01-26 17:42:46 -0500 OS Version: 10.1.5 (Build 5S60b) Host: localhost Command: LaunchCFMApp PID: 431 Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001) Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0x1214196c Thread 0 Crashed: #0 0x70004460 in szone_malloc #1 0x70004204 in malloc #2 0x70161620 in CFAllocatorAllocate #3 0x7311a328 in CreateEvent #4 0x7319b940 in CreateWindowConstructEvent(unsigned long, unsigned long, Rect const *, OpaqueWindowPtr *, void *, OpaqueEventRef **) etc. My Retrospect version is 5.0.205. TIA, alex
Mayoff
Hi, You should go to our website and download 5.0.238. You are using a version that has many bugs. This problem is likely fixed in the latest version: Updates page
Maser
It might also be what I indicate in this thread: Serious crashing bug with Retro 5.0.238/OSX 10.2.3 this was duplicated by Dantz Q/A (finally!) (Of course, you should try 5.0.238 first!)
alexm
OK! Yes, I should upgrade. But in going to download the upgrade, discovered an embarrassing problem... I can't figure out whether what I have is Workgroup or Server. The about box, all my manuals, etc. just say "Retrospect Backup". I figure it must be one of these, as I'm backing up about 10 clients with this system.
Mayoff
Workgroup and server download the same update files. You can use either. Thanks
