khughes
When an Automated Script engages an erased tape for the designated set, will it produce a dialog box requiring a response or simply name the blank tape appropriately and proceed with the backup? I am migrating from DDS-2 to DDS-4 and will be using new sets for the next 10 days and would like to avoid dialog requests if possible by formatting tapes, etc. if possible. IrenaS
No, as long as the tape you leave in the drive is erased. Unattended mode (which is how Retrospect runs when it auto-launches and runs a script) means that Retrospect will automatically seek out a blank or erased tape and use it. It will only ask for confirmation if you are running in Interactive mode (such as doing an Immediate backup).
