Guest
I have an AIT overland tape library on an Mac G4 and I am using Retrospect 4.3. Why wont Retrospect mount the media automaticly for an unattended execution unless I manually label all 18 tapes. The library has a barcode scanne built in but Retrospect does not utilize the his feature. Could the barcode reader be the reason why Retrospect will not see the tapes in the libray as erased or available media?
Mayoff
If you go to configure>Devices does the "scan all" feature scan all the tapes?

Guest
Retrospect, in Unattended mode, should use any blank or erased tape. Set a script to run in a few minutes and watch what happens. Does it scan the library? Does it look for any tape? Also, open your operations log and make sure that ONLY the ADK (Advanced Driver Kit) is loading. If the RDU (Retrospect Driver Update) is loading as well it can conflict. If the RDU is loading, delete it from the Retrospect folder; it is not needed for this drive.
