alquimista
Windows XP SP3 Retrospect Express 7.5 REV-Drive 35 GB - USB external ********************************** Retrospect does not recognize/find the external drive, although it can be accessed by Explorer. => ReInstall SW =>Device-Manager in Retrospect shows the drive (as CD-drive) => 2nd launch of Retrospect => drive is not accessible again until re-installation. This procedure is repeatable. Did a complete De-/Installation of Retrospect twice without success. Before this issue backups were never a problem for more than one year. The PC isn't connected to the web => no Windows-Updates or viruses. Any help is appreciated urgently! Thanks!
Mayoff
Are you installing the REV drive software itself? That is required. What version of 7.5 are you using?
alquimista
What do you mean with "drive software"? The delivered CD-ROM contains a "REV-Administration-Suite" and "Retrospect Express". Version: [color:red]7.5.370 OEM Driver Update & Hotfix: [color:red]7.5.10.104 The backup-procedure worked fine for one year. Suddendly we are experiencing this errors. As I noted today there is more trouble on the system. Slow down, freezing and a shutdown... It seems there may be a hw-problem. I'll return the unit to the manufacturer for a deeper test and repair. Anyway, if you can suggest updates or other testing procedures I'd appreciate it. Edited April 8, 2010 by Guest
Mayoff
The REV drive has driver software that must be installed so the disks do not look like CD's
