can't read catalogue file?

I'm using retrospect 8.1 to back up tons of video files to LTO tape. Right now, I think I need to view the catalog files of certain media sets / tapes to see what is on them. But, when I open the .rbc catalog file, retrospect opens, but nothing else appears.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I actually need to view the catalog file to see the contents of the tape?

Please help,

Thanks so much

I suspect that you are being hit by the Daylight Savings Time bug that prevents access to backups before November 1.

See this thread:

Massive Daylight Savings Time bugs

I understand that a fix is coming "real soon, now" - hopefully in a few days.

See:

so, I downloaded the latest update, and I'm still not able to see backups before 11.2.2009... I imagine the exist in the catalog folder but I can seem to open them. is there a trick? an import button? a reset date and time stamp thing? or is this just a major intuitive flaw on my and retrospect's part...

thanks for you help!

This is unrelated to the 8 TB issue; this is the DST issue.

Did you install the update? For both the console and the engine? Then stop/restart the engine?

Could you confirm the Retrospect versions (8.1.???) you are running for both the engine and console?
