Guest
I would like to backup a mac retrospect client machine over the internet to my mac server running Retrospect at a different physical location. Both client and server machines are on a (separate) LANs with static ip addresses and routers (basic firewalls) between them and their high speed internet connections. Each router is configurable to route all inbound traffic on a specfied port to a specific machine on it's LAN. I assume that I will have to configure my client side router to route all of Retrospect's traffic to my client machine. Does anyone know which numbered port or ports the Retrospect app on my server will attempt use to communicate with my client machine? Any answers, suggestions or references on this process would be appreciated. Thanks.
Mayoff
Retrospect uses Port 497 for UDP and TCP traffic. We also use Multicast and Subnet Broadcast.
