Nicky4242
Hello, We are running Mac OS 9.x Server and 5 Clients. We were having problems with clients dropping off the network with Appletalk, so we changed to TCP/IP. The first backup after the change took 33 hours!!!!! and then on the second backup the server could not see any of the clients. Should I give up on IP or is there anything I can do? I am using Retrospect Ver 4.3. Thanks, Nicky
lv2ski
Did you add the clients via IP address when you first added them after switching to TCP/IP? IF so...that is why they can't be found the 2nd time around. Instead add them via multi cast which is just going to Configure/Clients and clicking on the client and picking add. tronic
Hi, One of my clients is having the exact same problem. Did the solution you were given work or did you do something else that worked. If so I'd be really gratefull if you could help me out. Nicky4242
My Mac server had lost all links to the clients even via appletalk. We have an external company that maintains our macs and have now fixed the server. Sorry I couldn't help.
Gater
Mark, Are you having the same long duration of backups (Nicky mentioned 33 hours), or with some client machines dropping off the list?
