RavenPlenty
I'm backing up my local drives, networked clients, and a network drive (NAS). Everything has been working fine but suddenly the NAS drive won't back up – I get "error -1101 (file/directory not found)". When I try to browse the drive in the Sources section, I just get "source unavailable". I can browse the drive fine in Finder. I tried re-adding the source by it's "Get Info" address – smb://SMB on Library._smb._tcp.local/Library – and by it's IP address, but I get "Can't find the requested responder (-530). To be honest, I don't remember exactly how I added this source originally. I think it was via smb://etc. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this problem started when I did the latest Retrospect update recently. Any advice? Need more info? Edit: just confirmed that I updated Retrospect to 8.1.148 on June 29, which is when the problem started. Mayoff
Did you try removing the NAS from the source list and then add it again?
RavenPlenty
I have removed it but am unable to add it again using both methods I described earlier – "Add source directly" using smb://etc. or IP address.
Mayoff
Usually you would use smb://ipaddress/volumename
RavenPlenty
Ok...just tried that and unfortunately I'm still getting the same error. What next?
Mayoff
Are you trying to add this using "add share" or "add source directly". NAS units should be via "add share".
RavenPlenty
"Add Share" worked, thanks. It appears to be backing up now.
